Description
The building is on a slight platform on a north-facing slope, with good views both up and down the valley. Drystone wall / field boundary is on the adjacent west side. The rectangular building was a hut associated with the adjacent field system and built on level ground. The walls lack mortar and are built from stone and are faced internally with rough stone and faced externally with rough stone. They are 1m thick and not built on orthostats. The position of any hearth is not evident. The doorway is in end of long wall. The eaves where they survive are 0.5m high. The building measures internally 10m by 5m. Entrance on the east side. The ground cover was bracken at the time of survey. B. Britton and G. Arnold, ArchaeoPhysica Ltd, 20/01/2009
