Description
The building is on a north-facing slope, with a drystone wall up slope to the southwest. The rectangular building was a hut associated with the adjacent sheepfold and built along contour. The walls lack mortar and are built from stone and are faced internally with rough stone and faced externally with rough stone. They are 1m thick and not built on orthostats. The hearth is in centre of short wall. The doorway is in end of long wall. The eaves where they survive are 0.7m high. The building measures internally 2m by 1.5m. Shepherds hut, with an entrance in the NE corner and a fireplace with lintel in the centre of the west wall. A two celled sheepfold is adjacent measuring 13m in length, 5m in width and 0.7m high.
