DescriptionAerial photographs taken during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance on 18 July 2000 (neg. ref. 005062-58) show low earthwork banks surviving on the summit and east-facing slope of Twyn Bwmbegan hill. The main banks describe a right-angled corner forming two sides of an enclosure - they are slighted, or overlain, by an extant field boundary at ST 1228 7379, attesting to some antiquity. Other low banks can be seen running diagonally north-east of this main enclosure. The field is crossed north to south by the denuded remains of a natural scarp slope. The earthworks appear to be the remains of a medieval, or earlier, field system.
