These mounds are seperated from a second group (Nprn24503), c.120m to the NE, by a clearly defined bank (RCAHMW 2000 Glamorgan III.1b, fig.231) running across the promontory, traceable from SS88637276 to SS88737272.
It can be suggested that the two groups represent successive warren arrangments, tied to the developement of the park/gardens of Dunraven Castle (Nprn265800).
A deer park is thought to have been estabished at Dunraven by the 17th century.
