Description
An irregular banked enclosure c.124m NW-SE by 100m, set upon ground falling to the SE on the E flanks of Castle Bank. The enclosure is sub-divided, with an upper, NW compartment, c.90m NE-SW by 45m, having traces of a rectangular structure, c.15m NE-SW by 5.0m, set within its SW angle, adjoined by a c.10m square feature. The SE enclosure bank appears to continue on the SW, articulating with a fainter, banked enclosure, c.50m NW-SE by 30m; a rectangular feature, c.10-15m across, adjoins the lower main enclosure on the SW, within which are traces of possible subdivisions. A NW-SE linear bank, delineating an area of plough-cultivation on the SW, intersects the upper main enclosure on the N, which overlies both bank & plough marks.

The main enclosure is portayed as disused on OS County series (Radnor. IX.1 1889), along with the superficially similar, in-use, Littlehill & Greenmeadow farmsteads to the SE & S.

Within the banked enclosure NPRN 511983 are two platforms NPRNs 511984 and 511985 and outside to the south is a smaller enclosure NPRN 511797 within another platform 511523. The relationship between the two enclosures isn?t clear.
