Description
A well-preserved cairn, which is mostly grassed-over, with some stone protruding through the vegetation, including a large stone block at the northwestern edge of the mound. The cairn is slightly oval in shape and measures 4.6m x 4m and is up to 0.5m high. It sits close to the Crickadarn and Merthyr Cynog parish boundary and has undoubtedly served as a boundary marker. It seems quite possible that it is a prehistoric funerary cairn, although the possibility that it is only a later boundary cairn cannot be ruled out. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 9 February 2009.
