Mile End Mill is shown as a Flannel Mill on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey mapping of 1875 and subsequent editions of 1900 and 1912. This water powered mill was built in 18th century and was possibly enlarged in the 19th century. A watercolour by Varley, currently in the National Library of Wales shows a small stone-built watermill with tandem undershot wheel.
