Description
Situated in a meadow on the west bank of the Afon Nedd, just south of Pont Melin-fach, are what appear to be the remains of an old mill.
The remains of a rectangular building measure internally 3.5m (E-W) by 3m. The walls are little more than banks of large grade rubble, including many water-smoothed stones, and measures to 2m wide and 1m high. There are the vague remains of a further building immediately adjacent on the S. Against the W side of the building is a mound of boulders consolidated with turf, about 5.5m in diameter and 2m high, in the centre of which is a stone-lined pit about 1.5m in diameter and 0.8m deep. There is the suggestion of a firehole on the NE. To the E of the mill are the remains of a leat running N-S and measuring about 2m across and 0.5m deep.

This was possibly one of a group of corn mills that had been established around the margins of the Great Forest by the fourteenth century.
