Description
Dan-y-graig-uchaf is situated on the east side of the minor road running from Heol-Senni to Ystradfellte, and just west of the Afon Senni. It is 1.3km south of Heol-Senni, on the slopes of Fan Bwlch Chwyth. It is a stone building with a pitched slate roof, with the hall possibly dating from the 17th century and the byre from the 18th. It is a long-house derivative type building ' with no direct access between the house and byre, as there is now a blocked doorway. It was empty at the time of inspection and had formerly been used as a shop. The building runs east-west, with the house at the western end with a fireplace on either end wall and the parlour and dairy at the eastern end adjoining the byre at the extreme eastern end. There is a joint between the byre and the house and the byre is narrower than the house.
