Description
Glanhonddu is a a smaller Regency style country house of c.1820-30 built for John Jones, died 1857, and owned by his heirs, the Dickinson family, into the later 20th century. The house is painted roughcast with a hipped slate deep eaved roof and two rendered chimneys. It is two storeys, having two main facades: a three-bay east entrance front and a south garden front with a central 3-window canted projection and outer single bays. There are hornless sash windows with fine thin glazing bars and stone sills. The south front had a hipped veranda, since replaced by a 20th century wood pergola. The east side has centre arched doorway with radiating-bar fanlight and double panelled doors set in altered porch with original pilaster responds and Roman Doric columns.
