Description
A three unit hall house of about 1500, adapted and modified before being converted to agricultural uses in the eighteenth century. A threshing barn, possibly seventeenth century, adjoins on the east.
A two storey building with attics under a gabled roof. The walls are of rubble stone with freestone dressings to the openings.
The original house was a very prestigious building for its time. It had an open central hall with an inner chamber. There was a larger chamber beyond the cross passage. The central chimney stack and stairs were inserted in the mid sixteenth century. Soon after this the walls were raised and a continuous upper storey was inserted. The attic storey is a still later adition.
