Description
An early to mid nineteenth century house, now part of Christ's College (NPRN 25091).
Facing onto Orchard Street is a two storey, three bay, range with a slate gabled roof flanked by ed chimney stacks. The facade is cement rendered, framed by end pilasters above a stone plinth. The doorway and windows on the ground floor are framed by pilasters and cornices. There is a two storey wing to the rear ending in a large three storey block, presenting a timbered south-west gable end.
The house has been extensively modified for school use and modern school buildings adjoin at the rear.
The OS 1st edition Town Plan of Brecon (1888) depicts a garden (or orchard?) to the rear, as well as various outbuildings that may have been connected to the house.
