Description
The former school and schoolhouse in Botwnnog comprises a school dated 1616 with an attached house. It was built according to the terms of the will of Henry Rowland (1551-1616), bishop of Bangor, after his death. The schoolroom measures approx. 8.8m by 5.6m. The building has been re-roofed with a doorway inserted on the western side, the original doorway in the northern wall having been blocked. The house has been rebuilt since it was drawn by Moses Griffith (1747-1819) in 1774.
