Description
1. Glanllyn is to the W of Bala Lake. The estate had a big nursery across the Bala-Dolgelly road.

2. Glan Llyn was originally a Wynn hunting box, and is today an Urdd youth centre. This garden is depicted on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25-inch map of Merionethshire XXII, sheet 9 (1901). Its main elements on that map include woodland, parkland, woodland with vista paths, carriage drive, walled garden, well, terrace, pier, pond, orchard, nursery, lodge, parterres and two boathouses.

3. There is an icehouse within the grounds, but the location is unknown.

4. A circular mound, c.20m diameter, set on northern point of peninsula at western end of Llyn Tegid/Bala Lake was discovered during aerial photography in October 2007 (NPRN 411869). The mound may be a viewing platform or eye-catcher related to Glanllyn gardens.
