Description
1. Garden earthworks include fine turf maze (90525), surveyed by G D B Jones and students in late 1990s (copy in archive) and fine set of garden terraces immediately north of the house (see air photo sources) at SJ 0604 1661.
T Driver, 12 August 2003

2. This garden is depicted on the Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25-inch map of Montgomeryshire XIV, sheet 1 (1901). Its main elements on that map include carriage drive, woodland and parterres.
C.S.Briggs 23.05.06

3. The garden area is named as 'The Walks' on early C19th estate maps in NLW. The name is still current but now applied to the road on the N side, with the explanation that cyclists usually dismounted there and pushed their bikes up the hill. RF Suggett/RCAHMW/Jan. 2020.
