This garden is depicted on the OS 25-inch maps of Monmouthshire VI, sheet 7 (1881, 1901). The house overlooks the main N-S road, with its lake (Fishpond on the second edition) and woodland to the East. Its main elements on the first edition include include an E-facing compartmentalised kitchen garden to the south of the property. By the later edition, it has disappeared apart from some parallel paths on the hillside, to be replaced by a more compact kitchen garden to the rear (west) of the house. Both gardens had glasshouses. On the first edition the house site is terraced both at front and to SW. This disappears on the second edition. There was otherwise a boathouse, parterres, formal (possible), woodland with vista paths, woodland, terrace, relict hedgelines, orchard, lodge, lawns, conservatory, carriage drive, sundial, and an avenue.
