A large house dating from the early 1800's; Denbigh Grammar School was relocated here from the crypt below St Hilary's c.1862 until it moved on again to the new purpose built premises in Middle Lane in 1903 where it remained until moving once again to its present site on Ruthin Road.
Between the dates of 1866-1881 it is believed that the property was owned by the headmaster, which was eventually purchased by the school Governors in 1881. It was then taken over by the County Governing Body in 1894 ceasing to be a Grammar School now a County School instead.
