This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location LIVERPOOL BAY pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The CERES was a wooden sailing vessel on passage from Liverpool to Newry. The report printed in Lloyds List on 26 February 1830 noted that the vessel had been run dpwn by the steamer CORSAIR from Belfast on 24 February and that the master had been drowned.
