Description
The wreck lies with its keel orientated 325/145 degrees. The hull has collapsed and the boiler now forms the highest point above the seabed. There are two mounds aft of the boiler, one of which is reported to contain hessian sacking. The iron propeller is still in place, but the top blade missing.

Event and Historical Information:
The ALBION was a small 30nt wooden steamship built in 1871. At time of loss on 12 December 1887, the vessel was owned by J Lindsay of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and registered at Liverpool. The Albion was carrying bagged floor from Liverpool to Bridgwater under the command of W Whiteley. The ship was caught by a south-southwesterly force 7 gale and foundered. A fishermen's fastening was reported in January 1971 and the wreck's presence confirmed by HMS HECTATE in 1987.
