This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location WEST HOYLE BANK pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The NORMA was a152nt wooden brig built in 1852 and belonging to Norway. At time of loss on 8 June 1884, the brig was owned by A J Jacobsen of Bbing and under the command of C Pedersen. It was carrying softwoods from Brevig to Connah's Quay. The brig stranded at the mouth of the Dee estuary,
