Event and Historical Information:
The M. E. C. was a 78nt wooden schooner built in 1860. At time of loss on 11 November 1891, the vessel was owned by T Salter of Baltimore, Co Cork (also the master) and was carrying cured mackerel from Baltimore to Liverpool. The schooner was caught in a west-northwesterly force 9 and was blown ashore near Porth-y-Ysgaden.
