Archaeological remains associated with the loss of this vessel are not confirmed as present at this location, but may be in the vicinity.

Event and Historical Information:
The VALIANT was a 20nt wooden sailing smack built in 1860. At time of loss on 10 September 1903, the vessel was owned by H Jones of Pwllheli and registered at Beaumaris. The smack was at moorings in Tremadog Bay when it was caught in a northerly force 10 gale. The vessel was driven ashore near Gimlet Rock.
