Description
This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location CAERNARFON BAY pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The PROVIDENCE was a wooden sailing vessel on passage from Faro to Dublin under the command of master Bourk. The report printed in Lloyds List on 23 March 1743 noted that the vessel had been lost near Caernarfon along with 5 other vessels on 29 February 1743.
