This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location CAERNARFON BAY pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The HIBERNIA was a wooden sailing vessel on passage from Philadelphia to Dublin. The report printed in Lloyds List on 24 February 1758 noted that the master's name as Troy and that the vessel had been lost near Caernarfon.
