Event and Historical Information:
The MARY ANN was a 44nt wooden sloop built in 1841. At time of loss on 8 December 1886, the vessel was owned by J Jones of New Quay and under the command of R Rees. The sloop was carrying a cargo of roofing slate from Caernarfon to Swansea when it was caught by a west-southwesterly force 9 gale. The sloop was blown ashore on Pwllheli beach and was lost with all hands.
