Event and Historical Information:
The NORSK VERITAS was a 489nt wooden barque built in 1867. At time of loss on 2 December 1876, the vessel was owned by H Houen and J Schanning of Skien, Norway. The vessel was on passage from Liverpool to Christiana when it was caught in an east-southeasterly gale force 9 and blown onshore 2 mile east of Point Lynas.
