Event and Historical Information:
The CARRS was a 205nt wooden brig (or snow), built in 1838 in Sunderland and registered in South Shields. At the time of loss, 29 September 1852, the vessel was owned by J Leslie and captained by Mr Christernsen. The CARRS was sailing from Liverpool to Newcastle-upon-Tyne with a cargo of salt, when it was lost two miles east of Moelfre in an east-northeasterly force 9 gale.
