Event and Historical Information:
The AGENORIA was a wooden schooner built in 1840 at Aberystwyth and registered at that port. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 51nt; 52ft 8in length x 15ft 3in breadth x 8ft 9in depth; carvel built; square sterned; 1 deck, 1 mast, rigged with a standing bowsprit. At time of loss, 29 July 1879, the vessel was owned by John Parry, Aberystwyth. The AGENORIA was carrying coal from Garston to Rostrevor under the command of master David Jones, when it was lost 10 miles off Lynas Point.
