Event and Historical Information:
The JOHN AND ANN was a 45nt wooden sloop built in 1831. At time of loss the vessel was owned by J Ellis of Caernarfon. On 22 December 1888 the JOHN AND ANN was transporting roofing slate from Bangor to Downpatrick under the command of R E Jones when it foundered 4 miles north-northeast of the Skerries.
