Giler Gatehouse is a square gatehouse of two storeys high, of rubble construction with roughly dressed quoins, freestone dressings, slate roofs and a rubble stack to the east gable. There are 3-light stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds in the gable ends. The ground floor has a large arched entrance, with beamed ceiling, through the centre of the gatehouse. The back of the gatehouse, has stone steps up to the house entrance. The back windows have been bricked up. Inside there is a plaster panel over a fireplace which shows a dated inscription "1623". A coat of arms is visible as well as a Latin inscription, translated as: 'My help is from the Lord' (also much modern graffiti).
