Event and Historical Information:
The ANN JANE was a wooden schooner built by O Griffiths at Nefyn in 1858. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 109gt, 93nt; 76ft 7in length x 21ft 5in breadth x 11ft 5in depth; fastened with iron bolts. At time of loss 27 December 1897, the vessel was owned by J H Williams of Porthmadog and registered at that port. The schooner was carrying bagged cement from London to Caernarfon when it was caught by a west-northwesterly force 9 gale.
