Glan-yr-afon is a two-storey roughcast villa with a low-pitched hipped slate roof. It has a 5-bay entrance front with a semi-octagonal projection to the centre, which has a columned stone porch. The 5-bay garden front has another central projection, this of 3-bays with an iron trellis veranda. There are sash windows throughout. A service wing and internal alterations were completed in 1890.
