The wreck of the SONNIA (NPRN 544541) lies in 55m of water and is orientated 080 (bow)/ 260 (stern). The wreck is upright and intact, 36m in length and 6.9m in width (McCartney, 2022: Phase 1 analysis).
The wreck was located by the UKHO in 1986 and inspected by divers in 2001 who confirmed the presence of timber cargo (McCartney, 2022: Phase 1 analysis). Two portholes and two ship's logs have been recovered and reported to the Receiver of Wreck. It was last surveyed by the UKHO in August 2021.
