Description

The wreck of the CLYTIE lies in 47m of water is is orientated 090 (bow)/ 270 (stern). The wreck is upright on the seabed and is 48m in length, 8m wide and stands c.5m clear from the seabed

The wreck was originally identified by the UKHO as the SEA GULL. Research by Dr Innes McCartney (2022: 148) for the Echoes from the Deep project, following a detailed survey by Bangor University in May 2019, identified the wreck as being dimensionally, positionally, and archivally consistent with the loss of the CLYTIE (NPRN 272098). The record has been updated to reflect that new research.

Event and Historical Information:
The wreck was originally located in 1945 and was most recently surveyed by the UKHO in August 2021.
