1. NAR SJ06NW17
Mainly 18th and 19th century rambling mansion, earliest fabric 16th century. First house on site 1403 (see M/DES/A file 19/2/73). Interior enriched plaster. Dr Johnson was here in 1774 (see Nprn32691), the Flopsy Bunnies rather later.
2. Mostly 2-storeyed house of rubble construction with one brick gable and slate roofs. The middle section of the main front is of five-bays, and has a slightly off centre door, and a central four-light transomed and mulioned window, with similar two-light windows to the ground and first floor. The central bay has a gabled front flanked a quatrefoiled parapet. There is a single-storey, battlemented bay either side of this main section.
