Event and Historical Information:
The JOHN HALL was a wooden schooner, owned by J Hall, Arklow, and registered at Dublin. The schooner was travelling from Swansea from New Ross with a cargo of coal under the command of master J Marshall, when it was in collision with a Runcorn registered brigantine CONSTANCE ELLEN in a WNW force 10 gale. The schooner subsequently foundered. The crew of four were all rescued.
