This record consists of a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location OFF THE SMALLS pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.
Event and Historical Information:
The REVENGER was a steel-hulled steamship (tug?) built by M Van der Kuijl, Slikkerveer, in 1905. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 243gt; 123ft 1in length x 23ft 6in breadth x 12ft 4in depth; 1 deck, 3 bulkheads, boatdeck 33ft, forecastle 12ft; screw propuslion powered by a single steam boiler linked to a triple expansion engine produicng 160hp; machinery by Alblasserdam. Msch. Fab; official number 135304. At time of loss on 27 August 1919, the vessel was owned by Elliot Steam Tug Company (J Page) and registered at London. It was on passage from Preston to Falmouth.
