Description
This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location NEAR SWANSEA pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The LILY was a wooden sailing vessel on passage from Limerick to Plymouth. The report printed in Lloyds List on 5 March 1811 noted that the vessel had been wrecked near Swansea on 24 February 1811. Also that much of the cargo had been saved.
