Description
This record consists of a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location WEST SCAR BANK pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The MARY was a wooden brig belonging to the port of Bristol. At time of loss, the vessel was returning from Demera to Bristol under the command of master Webber. The brig was lost 'off the Sker Weather ' at 2am on 1 September 1810. The master and three crewmembers were saved, but another two men and the ship's apprentice were drowned.
