Event and Historical Information:
The FLYING DRAGON was a 5nt steel-hulled steam tug, built in 1886, and powered by a compound engine. At time of loss on 6 January 1891, the vessel was owned by G J Kidston of Glasgow and registered at that port. The tug was under the command of master T Myles and seeking towage work for Cardiff. The FLYING DRAGON was in collision with the Glasgow registered steasmhip SNIPE and subsequently foundered 2 miles east of the Nash Point Lighthouse.
