Event and Historical Information:
The MISTOR was a 1462gt steel-hulled steamship built in 1890. At time of loss, the vessel was owned by Mongo and Dorese, London, and registered at that port. On 5 August 1900, the ship was enroute from Newport to Malta under the command of master E S Coode, when it was in collision with the Cardiff-registered steamship GLEN ROSA and subsequently foundered 0.75miles northwest of the English and Welsh Grounds lightship.
