This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location ST GEORGE'S CHANNEL pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The BOADICEA was a built in Pill (Bristol) in 1871.Technical and configuration specifications are given as: 1 deck; 2 masta; dandy rigging; stern ellipical; built carvel; framework wood; length from the forepart of the stem under the bowsprit to the aft side of the stern post 75ft 5 tenths; main breadth to outside of plank 19ft tenths; depth in hold from tonnage deck to ceiling admidships 8ft 75 hundreths. 81.75gt; 71.70rt; deck raised and remeasured 14 April 1871 .
At time of loss, the vessel was owned by Mrs J Cooper, Pill. On 9 March 1891 the BOADICEA was carrying coal from Newport to Cork under the command of T Cope. It was last seen off Milford Haven, and was eventually posted missing at Lloyds with all 4 crewmembers.
