Description
Rebuilt containg beam inscribed I.D. 1696 - John Davies - Author of display of heraldry.

(2) A two-unit cottage set gable-end onto the road. Maen Silio was substantially replanned in the later C19th with the addition of a Back Kitchen, the rebuilding of the central chimney, and the skilful refacing of the roadside gable. The older part with the inscribed beam and a gable-end window is nearer the roadside. A blocked doorway near the centre of the building suggests that the cottage was originally of direct-entry or lobby-entry type. A range of farmbuildings has become ruined. The location of 'Maen Silio', presumably a stone associated with St Tysilio, has been lost. (R.F. Suggett/RCAHMW/July 2005)
