Event and Historical Information:
The CAPTAIN PARRY was an iron-hulled steamship built in 1865. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 477gt, 318nt; screw propulsion powered by a single steam boiler linked to a compound engine. At time of loss 13 December 1893, the vessel was owned by M Murphy Junior of Dublin. The steamship was carrying a cargo of coal from Garston to Dublin under the command of T I Little when it developed a leak. The vessel foundered with all hands (11 crewmembers) 13 miles northwest of the Skerries.
