Maes Gwyn has a date stone of 1665 being set in the rear walling. Built of stone, the house is 2 storey, with a slate roof, 2 storey porch, external north stone stair. Internally there are many original features including beams and an open fireplace.

Associated with 18th century outbuildings ranged about two courts/yards on the north (Nprn37173-6).
