Description
Nant is an L-shaped cottage, dating from the late 17th or early 18th century and having two storeys and an attic It was probably built as a farmhouse, but was subsequently made into five cottages for workers at the nearby Maeshafn leadmine, and later converted back into a single property. It is of rubble construction with a plinth, having a recently renewed slate roof with two gabled slate hung dormers to each range, and cement-rendered chimney stacks. Two windows to each range are set within former doorways, with visible masonry breaks. Internally the building retains original features such as chamfered cross beams, boarded door and pegged trusses. An attic room near the front gable has roughly hewn timbers and was formerly a storage loft.
