Description
NAR SN21SE18
Investigation of a low mound, 1890 (Treherene 1907), revealed a rectangular drystone construction, marked at its angles by four large stones. These, apparently in their original positions, are contained within a c.3.0m square walled enclosure, having an E facing entrance, built for their protection after 1890.
The drystone structure was thought to be the remains of a cross platform, a possible socket stone being present.
A cross-incised pillar stone (ECMW No.167), was uncovered beneath the structure noted above.
The modern stone wall, containg the various stones noted above, is currently (1995) fenced about.
