DescriptionExcavation, in 1969, examined the remains of a rectangular, stone founded building, set over marshy ground close to the source of the Annell stream: the building is about 7.8m north-west to south-east by 5.0m, defined by well laid walls, about 0.75m across & 0.3m high, thought to have supported turf walling, & resting on a foundation of boulders on the southern, marshy side; the building was entred from the west & appeared to have been internally subdivided, the southern part having a central hollow opening into a drain in the south wall, thought to have been used for animals.
The form & layout of the building have been compared with medieval and later hafod structures.
