DescriptionThe remains of at least two long huts with associated folds and shelters, including a possible dairy food store, are located on either side (but mostly the south side) of Nant Melyn, a stream which defines the north side of Twyn yr Esgair. The stone-built structures, which generally survive in a ruinous condition, lie between 280m and 300m above OD. Partly scheduled.
The buildings are probably of late Medieval to Post Medieval in date, though a well-preserved fold (NPRN 408385) located on the opposite side of the stream, may be of more recent date.
Nearby house platform structures possibly represent an earlier episode of land use (NPRNs 408378 & 408387) .
