The Wyndham Hotel site appears on an early (1830's) map and was thought to be the site of a 17th century coaching inn which once housed the Court House and Prison. The hotel sits on an island site with side and rear elevations to Cross Street and Elder Street. The building has 3 storeys, slate roofs and rendered chimney stacks.
